The Gay & Lesbian Alliance awards nominated singer Lady Gaga and fashion designer-turned-director Tom Ford’s debut film “A Single Man” in best film category.
The organization ‘Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’ named around 116 nominees for exceptional coverage of gay issues. They nominated works from different categories like film, television, documentary, music, theater, comic books and journalism. The 21st ‘GLAAD’ awards will be presented at three ceremonies, which will begin on March 13 in New York.
Lady GaGa and Tom Ford’s debut film tells the story of a gay professor. The other nominated film by director Lee Daniel, “Precious” is based on the novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire” is about a struggling Harlem teen who befriends a lesbian teacher. These two films are among nominees in the outstanding film category of GLAAD Awards.
The nominees for outstanding singer category are New York singer Lady Gaga, U.S. indie band Gossip, U.S. singer Brandi Carlile as well as former American Idol runner up Adam Lambert, who last year told Rolling Stone magazine he was gay following months of speculation
