Talk about a horror film and one instantly tends to ask the makers whether it has been copied/inspired/lifted from a Western or a Far East film. Since Hollywood as well as Korean/Japanese market has excelled in making quite a few money spinning horror films in the past, one wonders whether the makers of A Flat too had looked in either directions before putting their Jimmy Shergill and Sanjay Suri starrer on floors.
“On the contrary the very USP of A Flat is that it is not the copy of any film”, Jimmy comes in immediate support of his team here, “In today’s times it is impossible to hide a source. There is no point because people anyways get to know that.”
A Flat, which is produced by Anjum Rizvi & Raaj Varma and directed by Hemant Madhukar is about a man who returns from abroad to India, enters a house and gets locked there. When all his attempts turn futile to unlock the doors, it becomes clearer to him that there is a supernatural power at play here.
“That’s right”, Jimmy nods in agreement here, “A Flat isn’t one of those regular horror flicks out there. It also has a strong element of being a supernatural thriller. Moreover, there is a strong suspense angle as well which makes audience play the guessing game.”
As it turns out in the film, as the suspense build in, the lead character played by Jimmy ultimately breaks down and starts thinking about things that he had done wrong in the past so that he could get a clue of the reason behind him being trapped by an evil force at play.
“Well, I don’t wish to talk much about the entire storyline here”, says Jimmy, “This is something that audience should explore for themselves. However, I can assure that ‘A Flat’ is something that you have never seen before. I am sure it would be impossible for majority of audience to crack the suspense.”
With Kaveri Jha and Hazel as the leading ladies, A Flat releases all over on 12th November.
